Estimated
Combined annual electricity demand, Phase 1 across all announced projects.
[figure] terawatt-hours per year.

No agency publishes a combined figure for proposed data center demand in West Virginia. The numbers below are ours, built from each project's own filings.
Estimated
[figure] terawatt-hours per year.

| Reference point | Annual electricity (TWh) | Source |
|---|---|---|
| All announced WV projects, Phase 1 | [figure] | Our estimate |
| All announced WV projects, full build-out | [figure] | Our estimate |
| All West Virginia electricity consumption | [figure] | [agency, year] |
| All U.S. data centers | [figure] | [report, year] |
Comparisons across these rows are approximate. The reference figures come from different years and different methodologies, and are shown to give a sense of scale rather than to support precise ratios.
Water use splits into two categories that are often conflated. Direct water is consumed cooling the facility itself. Indirect water is consumed generating the electricity the facility uses. For projects that generate their own power on site, both fall within the same fence line.
Estimated
[figure] billion gallons per year.
Placeholder: intensity factors used for direct and indirect water, and their sources. State the cooling architecture assumed, and what the estimate becomes under the alternative.
